OODA stands for observe, orient, decide, act. In the case of military decision making, especially when it comes to warfare, it is a model that can loop in itself, and is repeatable and applicable to almost any situation, serving as a somewhat spiritual guide for the commander. Observing the situation affords us the knowledge to orient our efforts towards one thing or another, decide what to do and act upon that decision. The circle then goes on to complete itself.
